John Nys: Masters Handling (Tues, Jan 22nd, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)

This seminar is designed for dogs competing at the Excellent/Master level in AKC, Masters in USDAA or the equivalent.  Each working team will be challenged to improve the handling and choices on course to find the best path for your dog and shave some time off your runs. Courses will be hybrid (weaves and one or two contacts).

Prerequisite:

  • Working dogs must have a good start line.
  • Please do not register a dog that has focus issues or that can not deal well in a seminar environment. The aim is to work handling and not focus issues.
  • Level: USDAA Masters, AKC Excellent/Master or equivalent. Or, if you have an Advanced or Open dog that is working at the Masters level.

Please Note:

  • If the event is full, please select the Register button and fill out the form to be put on the WAITLIST.
  • Event fees are non-refundable unless filled via the waitlist.
  • LUNCH WILL NOT BE PROVIDED. Please plan accordingly by bringing your own lunch. There are also many restaurants close to the center.
  • Auditors are welcome! Auditing fee is $50/day. Auditors, pay day of event.

About John:

John has been involved in animal training for over 25 years. John started his devotion to training horses from an early age. John has won multiple National Championships with his horses and was the Massachusetts National Barrel Horse Rodeo Champion in 2002.

John Nys is a Northeast agility enthusiast who has been competing on the local, national and international dog agility stage for over 15 years. During this time he has become one of the most respected competitors and instructors in agility. He is well known for his positive motivation and mental management/coaching with his students and his canine companions. John has been a consistent finalist at the AKC National Agility Championships, placing in the top 3 on over 8 occasions. His latest award was with his female BC, Trick. On Feb. 11, Trick won the fourth annual Masters Agility Championship at the 141st annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City. John is also an 8 time International World Team Member. Recent accomplishments include winning a spot with Trick on the European Open 2018 large dog team, and winning a spot with Boss on the European Open 2018 medium dog team.

John’s accomplishments have been earned and realized thru the dedication and training of all his canine partners, for which none of this would have been possible without them all. (Casey, Blink, Rush , Trick and Boss)
